After the great 921 earthquake occurred in 1999 , Taiwan
government conducted"The
Bamboo Charcoal Industry Revitalization Plan"to
revitalize the economy of the quake’s major impacted region.

Other than inviting
Toba Akebono, the Japan bamboo charcoal master, to conduct the
technologies of building kilns and bamboo carbonization. Taiwan
government assigned Dr. Guo-Xiong Huang, Taiwan Forestry
Research Institute, and Dr. Wen-Tung Chen, Taiwan Textile
Research Institute, to work together to apply nano technologies
to bamboo charcoal textiles. |

Bamboo Charcoal fabric is cloth fabric
made from nano-particles of bamboo-charcoal. Bamboo-charcoal
fabric's bamboo-carbon nano-particles comes from 4-5 years old
Taiwanese Moso Bamboo (Phyllostachys heterocycla pubescens) that
is grown naturally in the Jhushan, Taiwan (bamboo mountain). |
